Hot Pixel is an innovative software and web development company that was founded by two University of Plymouth graduates; Andy Russell and Martin Darby.
After graduating from the Digital Art and Technology BSc (Hons) degree and enjoying a wave of success with their prototype arcade machine RotoblastT, the pair decided to take their small developer model into the commercial world.
Our expertise lies in interactive multimedia design, primarily in the domain of web development and computer games. If you like what you see then get in touch.
The Hot Pixel team has a broad range of expertise that covers a multitude of different disciplines that could fall under the umbrella of 'digital media'. We believe this comprehensive and well established skill base allows us to be extremely resourceful and effectively find the right tools for the job.
We are well versed in all areas of web development, however we also have skills in games design & 3D programming (using Shockwave 3D, J2ME and C++/Direct X).
We are also committed to research and development in order to stay at the forefront of what we do. Through having a deep theoretical knowledge of interactive media and its associated impact on culture we are able to be highly innovative and bring new & creative uses to technology in the commercial sphere.
• We have the ability to develop complex projects in a small team. See our project Rotoblast for an example.
• The ability to think abstractly, thinking about familiar things in different ways: Fuelling innovation and driving unique solutions.
• While each team member has a specific role, we all have an in depth knowledge of our subject area, allowing each of us to see things from the widest perspective.
• An extensive technical skill base allows us to draw on many different areas in order to find a unique solution.
• Our standards driven process puts emphasis on client involvement during the pre-development stage, enhancing quality and allowing products to be ideally suited to their needs.
